Day #7 Honolulu airport and welcome home

We didn't have to wait long outside the hotel before we were picked up. It was a little odd as we were picked up by a different bus company than expected, but we were on our way to the airport. Catherine was getting a little anxious about getting there on time (when you consider we got to Sydney at least 4 hours before the plane was due to leave) our plane was originally scheduled to leave at 8.15am. She had even joked that if she got stuck in Hawaii that she'd apply to the Zoo for a job to pick up after the animals if need be, but I think she really wanted to go home.  Llew and I were not worried, and despite the news as we travelled that the expected bus driver had slept in so another company was picking up their slack, and the driver we did have stopping at wierd locations for pickups, and having a bit of a heavy foot (pros and cons, or viceversa) we got to the airport with time to spare, and well the flight had been delayed anyway. The line at the checkin point was full (like out the door and down the path way) of us crazy Australians going home at 6 in the morning, and well we were not the last in line, so there you go.
US Customs Check point make you take your shoes off before going through the scanning machine, it was like a Buddhist temple all over again.

Our airline at both airports had been the furthest (close to) away from each point we needed to be, I suppose seeing as we'd be sitting for most of 9 hours+ the exercise did us good.

We arrived at our gate at the end of the universe - no plane.

Still no plane

Llew thought she'd join me

Ally oop

No plane

Did I hear the crinkling of packet?

Yumm!   Heeeheeeheeee
Hey come back here

crunch crunch crunch

I suppose I'll share

The plane was only about 1/2 hour late, it does a back and forth from Sydney Australia

We watched the workers check over the plane

and load it up with food, I wonder if they have chips?
And though a little delayed we did make it on board, and it was crowded this time, no spreading out, and some time later (like heaps of hours)....

We're home!!!
Miriam greeted me at the doll room door.

and Maddie with her roomies Georgia and Indigo.
