Day #4 Oahu Grand Island Circle Tour -Kualoa Ranch and Nuts

Next stop was Kualoa Ranch. Other than being a ranch (cows and horses) they have taken on Hollywood movies, the most well known for this location is the Jurassic Park movies!!

We boarded a tram and took a ride up the slope side for a brief (very brief) tour, hoping to catch a glimpse of anything prehistoric.

The island that can be seen here is known as Chinaman's Hat.

And then there were the mountains, wow

Hmm no dinosaurs unfortunately, but if you zoom in on this picture to the right, under the shade of the tree

a donkey.

Lunch!
Pepsi

Chips, a salad wrap

and banana bread
yummo

The Ranch had a souvenir shop. Llewellyn decided on a frangipani hair clip (wind swept not bed hair) (hey)
and I got a pair of earrings.

Next stop was a Macadamia plantation just down the road, they had a fish tank inside the front door.

It was here we had our first case of mistaken identity, the staff asked if we were Barbies!!! and I repeat first case.

Out the back was a box of raw uncracked nuts. Rodney was showing us how to crack them, so I thought I would have a go. The ground rocks had a slight indentation in them, the nuts sat there and then you thumped them with the flat side of another rock.
And yummy stuff on the inside.

Waiting to have another turn.

Out the front was this lovely seat

and this vase of flowers, there was a pair of statues to the left of frame, not sure who they are now, who was in charge of the camera?

Still in awe of the mountain range.

We set off again, still along the coast, but edging our way round the far end of the Kualoa Ranch

hoping for a glimpse

This clip art picture features a cute looking cartoon dinosaur. It is eating a plant and from its shape and design it appears to be a Sauropod dinosaur such as a Diplodocus or Brachiosaurus.
there did you see it

Now this is supposed to be a giant, lying down on the far mountain ridge, with his mouth open, and as we went further up the road, and round the bend he was supposed to close his mouth. Believe me we did see it at the time. Do you remember Llew?
I think that first lump there are his toes, he's got his hands on his tummy and that is the mouth and nose.
Oh, you sure?
No

I have copied the dinosaur picture from this website
