After the Storm Part 2

Llewellyn and Miriam were so glad it had stopped raining, and wanted to go outside for a bit.
It was still very wet though.

The water guage was full, well as full as it could be with a crack in it, but it was way past the 6 inch marker.  The Turtle pond was also full, behind the blown over plant the edge was lower so the excess water was flowing out.  But the turtles didn't seem to care, and General Sherman (the catfish) didn't mind much either.

All the tubs were full too.

You drying out Tyrion?
Oooooooo, scratch please

The front path was under water, Mirian noticed the high tide mark though on the verandeh wall, the water was receding.

The girls asked if we could go for a drive around, so we went to the local Dam.

Who is George Schroder? Does he play piano on the Peanuts?
No thats Schroeder, this man was an engineer for the Hunter District Water Board (I had to google that so this conversation kind of took place, then and later on)

The Dam looks pretty full

The blue line says its at top level

The park the pumping station is in, does have play equipment, but well it looked a big bit wet as well, so we had a nosey about one of the massive trees that had been felled by the storm.

Miriam decided to climb the fallen trunk

Llewellyn was impressed by the rings of the trunk

and the hole left behind
I wonder if Alice and the White Rabbit are down there?

And well we went home very shortly after this as someone tried to jump a puddle, and we'll just say it was a bit slippery.
