A kitchen makeover

So the kitchen in my dollhouse was based on the first our generation kitchen I had. I'm in process of makeover (long and drawn out version), and ond of the rooms is getting a new kitchen based on the red version of the Our Generation kitchen.
If you get the pieces in the right light they have a bit of glitter in them, fortunately it is in the plastic not on it so it doesn't go everywhere.

Sparkley

So with a little fairy dust

And a tube of red paint our kitchen island is being painted to match

Hmm I might just have to promise you, it is sparkly too. And now there little bits of glitter everywhere.

Fairy courtesy of a 90's Barbie (Teresa actually, with the big blue dress that flowered).

Journey girls new things

Popped into tRU today and always like to check for new things.
TRU kotara Australia.

The jg loft bed the color scheme has changed, the desk chair looks like a swivel chair, and the ladder now looks like it hooks over a cut away portion of the bunk bed side.

Love this outfit- well the knitted jumper with the Lacey skirt. I'm sure that JGKelsey has given a great review on this over on her blog. Hopefully I can add it to my collection.

This was another new item I'd not seen before. Nautical theme.

About a boy, Xmas decorations (part2)

Dear diary,
Andy came over after school, with Lawrie. While Lawrie was pretending to play pirate ships with Miriam and Llew

(It is so cool the girls let the little boy join in, Andy pointed out that even the Captain let Lawrie wear her hat, I'm so glad the boys are so comfortable coming here)

Andy and I went to my room to look at the Xmas decorations from Catherine.
Gulp - a boy in my room - Andy thought it was awesome though, and was in awe over my collection of Lego mini figures (lucky I'd tidied up a bit before school). I realised I had left tiger girl and skater boy out together and quickly moved them apart.

Nano blocks are really small, well Catherine says so for her big human hands.

But Andy and I had no trouble. The instructions are a little more difficult to handle though. Especially compared to any Lego structure I've tried so far. I hope some day to get some of the architectural sets see how they are. Nano blocks are put together in layers. One step involves three layers sometimes you need to use a top layer first to support the lower, so it takes a bit of planning. Catherine also suggested really good lighting.

Catherine popped in to see how we were going. We had finished the Xmas tree. She asked what we would scale it in difficulty. We both agreed on 10.

When Catherine left Andy held my hand just for a second and said that this Xmas was going to be the best ever. I guess he meant cos Lawrie was now here and it would be cool to see Xmas with a little kid around.
I asked Andy if he had time to build another set.
He said yes.

A Xmas stocking with candy canes, Santa on his sleigh being pulled by two reindeer, and a polar bear in scarf and hat with a little blue boxed gift.

Maddie.

About a boy, Xmas decorations.

Hey Maddie,
I got your something to decorate your room with for Xmas.

Xmas! Already? It comes round so fast.
I know.
Um, do you think I should get something to give to Andy?
Sure, if you want to.
I do, but what?
I might have an idea. I'll show you later.
Ok, ooh look at this.  Nano blocks. Is it ok if I see if Andy wants to build this with me when he comes over next.
No problem. Are you two like boyfriend and girlfriend yet?
(Embarrassed giggle) No, I, what?
Just wondering. He seems really nice.
He is. Catherine, would it be ok if he was? Like can I?
Of course you can, if you want to.
I want us to be friends first. I do hope he likes me.
I think there's no problem there Maddie.

About a boy, and a little brother

Dear diary,
October 21 saw the arrival of Andy's little brother. Andy had really been nervous, as each time he'd gone with his parents to see the little fellow, Andy said the little boy had been shy like really bad.  Andy had tried to talk to him and sit near him but it made the little fellow cringe. Andy also said the little boy looked a little messy and uncared for almost.
Maybe the power of a teddy bear would help.
We went to the shops after school on the Tuesday. Andy wouldn't be at school on the Wednesday because they were picking his brother up.
Well Thursday I saw Andy at school before class and he was beaming. The teddy had been just the thing, he said. Maybe like a security blanket. The little boy opened right up. Andy asked if when he came over on Saturday could he bring his brother with him. Wow,

Maddie

Dear diary, Saturday 24th
Andy was coming round with his little brother.

There was a knock at the front door.

Hey Maddie.

Hello.

Maddie i'd like you to meet Lawrie. It's okay buddy she's only a little bit scary

Hey Lawrie, i tried not to pull a face at Andy in case I did look scary and frighten the little boy away.

I think he wanted to say hello but he couldn't quite manage, so he just smiled. He had the most gorgeous brown eyes and freckles over his nose.
Wow that's some werewolf you got there
Lawrie nodded.
Would you like to come see our pirate ship? I asked.
He looked at Andy for the okay.
Remember I told you about it? Andy said calmly, and the little boy nodded.

Here it is, we went to Miriam and Llew's room.

Lawrie looked intrigued and sat down to play with the shark, but still without a word.

Until Llewellyn arrived.
Wow. We heard him exclaim.

And no pirate ship nor anything else was going to get his attention after that.

Andy and I couldn't help but giggle at Lawrie's enraptured state. Llew didn't seem to realise the impact she'd had.

Andy was so happy with the turn around in his little brother's behavior. It would probably be a little while before Lawrie felt comfortable with new people but when Andy was there he was fine.

You could tell Andy was really chuffed actually. They'd taken Lawrie to the barber just before coming over today and Lawrie had pointed at Andy meaning he wanted his hair cut just like his.
Andy said his mum and dad were so happy with the decision to increase their family that they might consider doing it again.

Maddie

Happy birthday Pippa.

November 3rd 2014, the longest day of my life so far, made possible by the magic of international time zones. The day was started in Australia and some time after 5pm our time the date line was crossed and we got to restart most of the day again in Oahu Hawaii, from about 8am. So to celebrate I went shopping and that brings us to the point of this post -to wish Pippa a happy birthday.

Pippa was waiting for us (Llewelyn, Maddie and I) at the Ala Moana shopping centre, where American Girl had a pop up shop (Timed especially for us) conveniently near a Disney store, a Lego store and an outlet of the unavoidable but convenient ABC store (All Blocks Covered - literally). She was disguised as the Historical recently rereleased Samantha, but we knew she was our Pippa when we saw her. We also saw Tauralie there (#61) trying on the My American Girl meet outfit, she was interested in coming to Australia too but had to go home to get permission, and a new outfit.

Happy birthday Pippa.
Um, thanks I guess?
The other bit of the surprise is in your box.

Tights

Leotard, tutu, shoes!
I'm going to try setting up a ballet studio

The wheels on the bicycles

So the first journey girls bicycle I bought has black tyres. Technically it was second hand, it was recycled (hehe) to Pippa last Xmas.

Llewelyn got this one in July. White tyres with orange rims.

This is the latest model in TRU. White tyres purple rims. It may become a lay-by, intended owner yet to be decided.
Probably would have been better of Id photographed the whole bike but never mind. More for the surprise.
