School 2015: while we wait for desks

Mercedes room is the nearest to the doll room door, so she'll often have projects that are on the go on her floor, - its where I put them if I'm in a hurry to drop them off, mostly due to an animal related task, foxes and DIY do not mix.

So, the progress on school desks has so far resulted in 1, a chair failure, and the purchase of 3 more table tops.

The goal, a desk with a storage space.

Desk tops in waiting.
I'm sure I purchased more wood for desk legs, and chair project take 2, I'm sure I did, what I did with it is another thing.

So whilst the furniture fiasco continues, Miss Dawson's floor initiative has solved the seating issue, desks will be the floor, and storage...

an MDF bookcase.
This display unit came with 16 little open top boxes, for the craftier than I to decorate. So far Trinity has covered 9 of the little boxes, leaving room for other things.

Each of the girls got to pick a box, to become their caddy for the time being.

Near the teachers desk we have crates of supplies including..

pencils and erasers

were they just being polite?
don't just sit there, take a pencil and an eraser

but not all at once

Some little note books, they came in four colours, perfect a different one for a different subject

Now girls, I'd like you wrtite your name on your books, makes it so much easier to work out who owns what, we'll also put your names on your boxes.
This book will be for....

School 2015: the 1st morning for Miss Wright.

The first day of school for newly graduated Bronte Wright, Miss Wright to you young person, she was feeling confident, she was in control, and ready for anything.

She was going to take the student's photos for their identification cards. The official school photos would be a little while later, maybe after the matter of uniforms was sorted, so the group could be formally photographed.

Bronte, echm, sorry, Miss Wright, and Miss Dawson had both been awarded the teaching position at this school. Miss Wright also had work at the school the next town over, so her time would be split between the two. Whilst her degree had covered Primary school teaching, she had specifically studied for creative studies, like art, craft, and sports, but could fill in for all the other subjects if need be.

Here comes the first student.

Say Cheese

and part-time director of traffic

installer of appropriate time pieces

in appropriate places - back of classroom

front of classroom

and then there was Trinity..
Miss Wright had thought she was being naughty when Trinity's kitten was trying to get into class as well. There are rules you know.

She even got by the second time, with the kitten in a carry case.

but one of the students, Emily, explained the situation. Miss Wright felt bad actually that she had prejudged the little girl.

It turns out though, Trinity is really keen on art and craft, and maybe just needs a little more understanding. Miss Wright realised she was not just the teacher, but maybe still a student herself, and it was going to be lessons for herself as well.

Maybe the example of her colleague, she observed how the little girls instantly warmed to Miss Dawon and paid attention.

Hmm, it was going to be a good year, alot of learning, for everyone.

School 2015: a little stray cat

At Xmas the girls had learned that this year was going to include going to school.  Trinity didn't have much interest in the whole idea, until she heard that it was going to include arts and crafts.
Wednesday was the big day, and so she headed off, with her ever loyal and favourtie companion Pudding the Himalayan Kitten.

The BFC inkers had left the common room behind, in a bit of a mess, and over the Summer there had been work done on that room to make it presentable for school.  So Trinity knew where to go, and was met by a tall lady with curly hair and big black boots.

Good Morning, I'm Miss Wright.
Oh, okay.
I'm going to be teaching at the school this year. What is your name?
I'm Trinity.

And who might we have here?
This is Pudding the bestest kitten in the world.
Ah, well you know the school is for little girls, and not for cats?
But Pudding can come, he's very good.
No, I am sorry, he'll just get loose and be a distraction, and I'm scared he'll make a mess. He'll have to go home.
Hoh, he does have a box.

Come on Pudding.

It's getting a bit late, I'll take your picture later.
Okay.

And here is number 7. Good Morning, I'm Miss Dawson.
Morning!
Miaow!
What! Um, is that a pet carrier?
It's Pudding.
Ohhh, he's gorgeous
Hahah, sneaky girl. I'm sorry dear but your cat can't come to school.
But, but we so wanted to come, and do crafty stuff, ...hhh
He is in his box, and he won't come loose, or make a mess..  and...

Hey, Trinity

Yes... sniff

Do you think Pudding will be okay if we put him in the playground, so he'll be just outside.
You'd be able to see him out the window.
Yes, he wouldn't run away or anything.
Then you can come inside and we'll have a great day and you can go check on him at recess and lunch.
Sniff, ok.
Did you hear that Pudding, you're allowed to stay, but you have to be outside (cos teacher's scared of you). It does mean that you can't craft with me, but I'll save some for you and we can do it together later. And I'll come play with you at recess and lunch.

Hi Pudding, hehehe

Good boy Pudding, shhh got to be quiet now teachers are speaking.

Um, Trinity.
(Whoops) Yes miss.

Do you want to come sit down with us all?
I can't see Pudding if I sit on the floor.
Hmm, you're right. I'll get something.

Pudding, Teacher brought me her own chair!

Now I can sit and see you at the same time

None of the others got chairs

Even Teacher is sitting on the floor, hhmm. School might not be so bad, can't wait for the Crafting to begin. Miss Dawson is very nice.

Maybe even Miss Wright is okay.
